Root Canal Treatment

A root canal can stop tooth pain and save a tooth that might otherwise need to be pulled.

How It Works

When decay or infection reaches the nerve inside a tooth, we remove the damaged tissue, clean and seal the inside of the tooth, and fill it. Most teeth then get a crown for extra strength.

Signs You May Need One

  • Lasting toothache
  • Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers
  • A darkened tooth
  • Swelling or tenderness in the gums

Catching Problems Early

A cavity found early can often be treated with a simple filling, before it ever needs a root canal. Regular checkups make that much more likely.
